Needles

What type of needles is everyone using? I am not happy with what I have...I used clover circs until it was time to use a longer length and now I purchased crystal palace bamboo and though I like the feel of them, the yarn does not slide smoothly from the cord to the needle on either end....suggestions anyone?

I have been using 10 inch Bryspun straights. They are my favorites for lace knitting. I've tried various circs in my stash, and none of them have good enough points. I did a Kidsilkhaze Birch on them, so I know I can pack in lots of stitches. I'm having to guess on finished width though-I measured one pattern repeat "blocked" and then I'll just extrapolate from there.

It seems that people in the lace knitting groups on Yahoo like Inox gray needles for lace. Haven't tried them yet, but I intend to order some soon.

Margie, I'm assuming you are knitting with Summer Haze tencel, which is rather slippery and bamboo or wood should be good choices but I prefer a little more "slide." I'm not crazy about the joins (bump) on Crystal Palace and had to straighten the cable with Clover with some hot water. I am back to using the Denise needles and am happy with the join, flexibility of the cable and not too slippery for me. They are plastic, I guess. I bought mine from Eve.
